SUMMARY:FasciAshi CONVERGE
DESCRIPTION:A 1 day “down and dirty” quick class to teach you as many basic\, beginner level FasciAshi tricks as we can from the Fundamentals class to blend into whatever you already know. (Proof of attendance in another ashiatsu workshop is required first.) \nThis is a fast-paced class to squeeze everything into your busy schedule! You’ll just get to give and receive everything real quick once from another student. Due to time constraints there will not be a chance to work on an instructor or a client\, and no chance to completely clean up your body mechanics\, but at least you can plug in the new material to your sessions as soon as you get back to your own bars at work!

SUMMARY:Myofascial Mobilizations for Instant Results
DESCRIPTION:Ready to get your hands-on and become a MyoMobster? \nCertified Advanced Rolfer™ & Structural Integration expert Lu Mueller-Kaul shares her Myofascial Mobilization techniques that you can use right away to get quick results (and relief) for your clients. \nLearn the most effective techniques for pain relief and better range of motion. You’ll be able to apply deep techniques to give your clients the release they crave\, while using correct leverage of your body weight instead of muscle. So your own body will thank you as much as your clients will! \nThis course includes Posture and Movement Evaluation\, Myofascial Mobilization (MyoMob) techniques for the whole body\, and specific treatment protocols and strategies for low back pain and neck/shoulder pain. \nWe also will address more general strategies for treating pain\, tension\, and limited ROM so that students can easily apply the practiced techniques on all areas of the body. The course is 80% hands-on with a focus on body mechanics. In addition to the typical positioning prone and supine\, we’ll work with clients lying on the side and seated. \nPractice is in short sessions for maximum efficiency\, so that students can either work with their clients in half-hour sessions\, or they can put some of the practiced techniques into their own routines in order to address specific problems.

SUMMARY:Traditional Thai Reflexology
DESCRIPTION:Who Can Attend\nCertified reflexologists; reflexology students; massage therapists \nCredits\nRAC: 12 ARCB: 24 NCBTMB: 23 \nDescription:\nThai foot reflexology is a marriage between the ancient healing arts of reflexology\, Chinese tuina\, Japanese shiatsu and Indian Ayurvedic yoga. Thai reflexology is easy and fun to learn and incorporate into your existing practice. Working with the feet\, lower legs and knees\, this 2000 year old\, highly reputed session frees up blocked energy within the body’s many sen lines (Thai- based meridians) to produce a deep and unique feeling of balance\, relaxation and well-being. \nUnlike conventional western reflexology\, Thai reflexology takes a relatively short time to learn. This is because the session follows a protocol\, rather than relying on extensive education and practice to create an effective session. \nIn this class you will learn:\n★ the history and philosophy behind Thai foot reflexology\n★ how to give a gentle 60-minute traditional Thai reflexology session\n★ the names and locations of the 6 major sen lines located in the feet & lower legs\n★ the body systems and health issues governed by the sen lines\n★ placement of conventional reflexology points along the sen lines\n★ the difference between Thai reflexology and conventional western reflexology\n★ how to incorporate hydrotherapy in your Thai reflexology session\n★ how to choose efficacious lubricants for a Thai reflexology session\n★ how to prepare and care for your Thai foot stick. \nYou will be given an illustrated manual\, Thai foot stick and a bottle of organic Thai oil. \nPreparation:\nWear clothes that allow access to your lower legs and knees\, and slip-on shoes that you can remove quickly and easily. Please be familiar with the bones of the lower legs and feet. \nQuestions?\nContact: karen@academyofancientreflexology.com
