Cupping – Therapeutic Massage

September 22, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 7:00 pm

$200
Cupping – Therapeutic Massage  8 CE Hours

In this class the student will learn how to safely and properly apply silicone massage cups to a client in 2 methods (static and sliding), indications, benefits and contraindications, and how to properly clean and disinfect the cups. After a cupping treatment, the client can expect:

  • Greater range of motion
  • Increased blood flow to stagnant tissue
  • Increased lymph flow, which helps cleanse the body of wastes/toxins
  • Overall sense of relaxation and well-being.

The benefits of Massage Cupping:

  • Pulls toxins to the surface where they are reabsorbed and flushed out via the lymph system.
  • Releases “stuck” tissue and allows for more mobility
  • Using negative pressure, treatments often are more comfortable than deep tissue massage.
  • Calms the nervous system.

Note to potential students: massage cups used in this class are made of silicone. Those with known allergies to silicone are not permitted to take the class.

The static use of massage cups leaves a round, visible mark (resembling a bruise) for 2 to 3 days. Sliding the massage cups will redden the skin, which may last up to 2 days.  If this is going to be a problem for you, please delay taking the class until you can participate fully in the exchanges.
